This is the best app that Ive found for drilling rapid addition on the abacus. I use it daily, but I do wish three things were different. 1) that you could turn off the sound. Ive had to tuen off my ringer to avoid the sound, then forgotten to turn it back on an missed calls. 2) better instructions. I didnt realize you have to pass a speed round in order to practice with more than 1 digit. 3) Addition only. I wish you could choose subtraction only or mixed
Addition and subtraction. Simple multiplication or division would be nice too. Overall I really enjoy it, hopefully new versions will include these features.
I got this for my 7-year-old son but I enjoy working on it as well. Too bad the drill only comes with addition. I will like it a lot more and will highly recommend it if the update will add the mixed drills. One can grow out of the addition exercise fast.
Very effective training for improving your abacus speed...
You have to make each speed mark to enable the next, and the first three to enable the two digit... Seems odd, but frankly until you master single addition at 2 second speed you havent a prayer of getting thru two digit addition at 3 second speed.
I do wish it had two features... A working volume function... your only choice is to turn the phone switch to silent, or have it annoyingly loud.
... And it should mix in subtraction as well as addition...
But as a basic tool to train yourself to work a soroban abacus without hesitation and stumbling... This will do it.
Some bad moments
I dont see a difference between this version and the free version. I paid money but the standard options are not working.
